HITACHI has added another 1080p LED HDTV to its collection, the 46in LE46TO5A.
The aesthetically pleasing HDTV uses a number of technologies to enhance picture quality such as Edge LED backlight system, 100Hz refresh rate and Mega Dynamic Contrast.
The three technologies work together to produce clearer and sharper images with the deepest black and purest white tones at a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, the company claimed.
Measuring a mere 29.8mm in thickness and weighing about 15kg, the slim and light model will fit any living room and can also be mounted on the wall easily.
According to Hitachi, the LED technology is eco-friendly because the backlight does not contain harmful components such as mercury.
It is also energy efficient and uses 40% less power than CCFL (cold-cathode fluorescent lamp) lighting system utilised in cheaper or older HDTVs.
The LE46TO5A comes with several input options including a component video port and three HDMI slots.
It also has a USB 2.0 port which users can use to hook up their Flash or external drive to directly access media files. It supports MP3 songs, JPEG photos as well as MPEG1 and MPEG2 videos.
