WHAT do you get when you combine a phone and camera? The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, that’s what.

Following hot on the heels of Android cameras like the Galaxy Camera, the Galaxy S4 Zoom aims to please smartphone users who want to take their photographs further.

Equipped with a 16-megapixel BSI (back side- illuminated) CMOS sensor, Samsung says the S4 Zoom excels in low light photo taking.

The brilliant 4.3in Super AMOLED screen behind serves both as the phone’s primary screen and viewfinder.

The S4 Zoom is a smartphone too, powered by a 1.5Ghz dual core processor and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

As one might guess, a big component of the S4 Zoom’s features centre around picture taking.

With a twist of the front zoom ring, the camera app instantly launches and you can begin shooting pictures.

The S4 Zoom’s long 10X optical zoom range is aided by Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) to keep images crisp and in focus when shooting in low light.

Apart from taking still photos the S4 Zoom can also record videos in full HD.
